Cosplay Day
Cosplay is a portmanteau of “costume play”. It’s a staple at sci-fi and comic book conventions, often with some very elaborate costumes such as Stormtrooper armor from Star Wars.
The Whitewright Public Library is hosting a Cosplay Day on Wednesday, July 20th at 10:15 a.m. The event will be held at 111 West Grand Street, which is next door to the Whitewright Area Chamber of Commerce office.
Reading is all about your imagination, and so is cosplay. Kids and adults can dress as a character from a book, movie, game, etc. or even your Halloween costume. You can also participate in our (optional) cosplay contest. Age levels are: Pre-K, Elementary, Middle/High School, and Adult. Winners at each level will get their choice of prize from the library’s treasure chest, plus there will be a special grand prize award.
