Whitewright Public Library invites submissions for Tiny Art Show

Join the Whitewright Public Library and the Whitewright Senior Center for their first ever Tiny Art Show!

The library will present a program at the Senior Center, 123 W Grand Street, on January 23rd at 10 a.m. for Seniors (space is limited), but the Tiny Art Show is open to all ages. Pick up a Tiny Art Kit beginning January 23rd at the library while supplies last, and return your finished art to the library. Art will be on display at the former Hubbard & Sons Hardware, 129 W Grand Street, from January 25th to February 17th.

Kits will include a 3x3 inch canvas on a wooden easel, paint, and brushes. One kit per person, as supplies are limited. Artists are welcome to use materials and supplies from home to create their pieces, but must use the 3x3 inch canvas provided. All mediums are welcome including paint, pencils, pen, needlework, sculpture, mixed media, etc.

The Rules:

  1. Create a piece of art using the medium of your choice (paint, color pencils, etc.). If you use paint, please ensure that the canvas is completely dry before returning it to the library.
  2. Please do not use any canvas other than the one provided. Do not frame your canvas. Write your name on the back of the canvas.
  3. You can choose the subject of your artwork, but please keep it family friendly. The library reserves the right to exclude any works.
  4. If you wish to keep your artwork after the art show, please pick it up at the library February 20th to 28th.
  5. By submitting your art, you are giving Whitewright Public Library permission to publicly display, photograph and promote it.

For more information, please contact the library, 903-364-2955. This program sponsored by the Whitewright Community Development Corporation. Special thanks to The Mission Companies for the use of the Hubbard & Sons building.
